Congress Venue
8th World Congress on Probability and Statistics will be held in
Grand Cevahir Hotel
and Convention Center, İstanbul / Turkey.
Congress Language
The official language of the congress will be English.
Letter of Invitation
Upon request, the Organization Committee will be pleased to send a personal
invitation to all participants, to facilitate visa and other formalities. This
letter should not be considered as an offer of financial support from the
organizers.
Access and Transportation
Atatürk International Airport located 24 km southwest of city is the main
airport but budget airlines like EasyJet and Corendon also fly to Sabiha Gökcen
Airport on the Asian side. You can use the shuttle service of Havas ( per person
ticket cost is 15 lira/ 7,5 Euro) for transfer from the both airports to the
city center, from where the congress center is just a short taxi ride away.
Registration and Information Services
Registration fees cover access to the scientific sessions and the industry
exhibits and the Congress documents (program, abstract and proceeding, books,
congress bag and pen-notepad, access to technical exhibition, invitations). All
participants who have not previously registered will be able to complete their
registration formalities at the “On-Site Registration Desk”.
Certificate of Attendance
A certificate of attendance will be presented to all registered participants.
Exhibition
8th World Congress on Probability and Statistics will also include a commercial
exhibition that will be open on the congress dates. For exhibition invitation

Passport and Visa Requirements
Participants from a country requiring a visa for entry to Turkey are strongly
advised to make their application in their home country at least three months
before the intended date of travel. If in doubt, information can be obtained
from your nearest Turkish Embassy or Consulate. The Congress will not be
responsible for these matters. The most updated visa information can be received
from the web-site www.mfa.gov.tr

Banks and Currency Exchange
In Turkey the currency is the Turkish Lira (TL). Foreign currencies can be
exchanged at the airport as well as at the private exchange offices throughout
the city which are open from 8:30 to 20:00 hrs. Local banks, where Traveler's
cheques and Eurocheques can be cashed, serve between 8:30 and 17:00 hrs. All
major credit cards (such as Visa, MasterCard) are accepted in most of the
Turkish restaurants, shops etc.
Time
Turkey is two hours ahead of GMT.
Electricity
The electric current is 220V AC with a frequency of 50 Hertz. European standard
plugs with two round pins are used. British and USA appliances need an adaptor.
